Chapter 13 Apprenticeship
"I'll let you go, fine, but I want to learn martial arts, you teach me."
Gong Ruomei, who had calmed down, almost blurted out the words "shameless", "lecher" and "asshole" when she heard this, and sneered, "Want to become my disciple?"
"Yeah, I think, Master is a martial arts master, you teach me kung fu, and I will take care of you in your old age." As he spoke, Zheng Wenjie shook his head left and right and rubbed his cheongsam.
"Okay, let me go." Holding back the suffocation in her chest, Gong Ruomei just wanted to wait for the black dog to let her go so that she could break his legs.
"Master, please swear an oath." Zheng Wenjie smiled secretly in his heart. Since Gong Ruomei had let the cat out of the bag, he would definitely choose this master. If he could find a female master, he would naturally not look for a male master. Having more mothers is much better than having more fathers.
"I swear, if you let me go, I will teach you."
"I swear in the name of Grandmaster Gong, Master certainly doesn't want the reputation of the Gong family to fall to the ground."
The two fell silent for a moment. Gong Ruomei wanted to retaliate, but the reputation of the Gong family could not fall into her hands.
"Okay, I swear on my Gong family that I will teach you martial arts."
"Yes, start over again. Not only teach me martial arts, but also accept me as your apprentice, a disciple."
Gong Ruomei was so angry that she laughed. In the past twenty years, she had never met such a shameless person.
"Let me go, I will accept you as my apprentice." As soon as he finished speaking, his whole body relaxed.
Zheng Wenjie helped Gong Ruomei up like a lackey, and pretended to pat the hem of his cheongsam with his right hand while flattering her: "Master, you have worked hard. What do you call the move you just hit me with? It was so smooth and flowing."
Ignoring the nonsense Zheng Wenjie was saying, Gong Ruomei shook off the hand that was holding her, kicked away the hand that was patting the hem of her cheongsam, opened the car door and left with an expressionless face.
Zheng Wenjie was happy. Isn't this a good thing? It's just a pity that Master Ye's Wing Chun skills were wasted.
Zheng Wenjie picked up Gong Ruomei's felt hat that had fallen to the ground and patted it. He looked at the still unconscious flight attendant and said happily: "You, kid, are a witness to my apprenticeship. No wonder you are so arrogant."
Zheng Wenjie was about to sit next to Gong Ruomei with his felt hat in his hand when he was coldly scolded and sent back to sit opposite.
Zheng Wenjie said to Gong Ruomei in a flattering manner: "Master, I have wiped your hat and it is now clean. Please wear it and don't catch a cold."
Glancing at the felt hat on the table, Gong Ruomei looked at Zheng Wenjie coldly: "Think it over carefully. If you want to become my disciple, you must abide by the rules. If you don't want to become my disciple, I will pretend that this matter never happened, and we are even."
Zheng Wenjie hurriedly replied: "Master, I am serious about becoming your disciple. I will definitely abide by the rules."
"Then you have to take off this police uniform first." After saying that, Gong Ruomei couldn't help but curl up the corners of her mouth.
Zheng Wenjie was stunned. Wasn't he deliberately making things difficult for him? I remember that none of Ip Man's movies said that officials couldn't become apprentices.
"Master, why is this?"
Gong Ruomei restrained her expression, suppressed the inexplicable joy in her heart, and said in a cold voice: "This is the rule, people from the martial arts world cannot be officials."
With his arms folded across his chest, Zheng Wenjie asked curiously, "Master, why can't I be an official?"
"Because people in the martial arts world cannot be lackeys of the imperial court, lest they oppress their fellow practitioners. Also, put your hands down."
Zheng Wenjie smiled and put his hand down, saying nonchalantly: "Okay, I won't be a policeman in the future."
Seeing Gong Ruomei's frown, Zheng Wenjie took advantage of the situation and wanted to slightly change his image in his master's mind.
"Master, you have the final say. If I don't want to be a police officer, then I won't be a police officer. If you have any other rules, you can tell me and I will follow them. I will never frown even if I face danger." Gong Ruomei squeezed her hands on her knees and said unhappily, "From now on, my rules are the rules. You have to do whatever I say."
Zheng Wenjie almost choked on his saliva: "Master, aren't we following the rules of the martial arts world?"
Gong Ruomei looked at Zheng Wenjie coldly: "Do you want to take me as your master or take Wulin as your master?"
"You, you are the master. To me, the master is the greatest in the world!"
Gong Ruomei nodded expressionlessly and continued, "The first rule is to speak nicely and swallow all your glib words."
"Okay, Master." Zheng Wenjie agreed, his upper body straightened, and he looked at Gong Ruomei seriously.
Gong Ruomei felt uncomfortable. This disciple was a shame to have. There would always be a chance for her to make him leave.
Not wanting to meet Zheng Wenjie's eyes, Gong Ruomei turned her head to look out the window and asked, "What's your name, and how old are you this year?"
"Master, my surname is Zheng, my full name is Zheng Wenjie, I should be seventeen now, and eighteen next year."
"Where is your home?"
Zheng Wenjie relaxed his upright upper body, lowered his eyebrows and replied, "I have no home. My hometown is in Hongxi Village. A group of Japanese invaders entered the village, and we are all gone."
Gong Ruomei saw it in her heart, pursed her lips and looked back at Zheng Wenjie: "When did it happen?"
"Just a few days ago, a guerrilla team rescued me. The captain valued my strength and was worried that I would die in the battlefield because of my young age, so he took pity on me and asked someone to let me become a policeman."
Glancing at the dejected Zheng Wenjie, Gong Ruomei sighed, "So, that's why you want to learn Kung Fu?"
Zheng Wenjie was stunned. What does this have to do with learning Kung Fu? However, he responded quickly: "Well, Master, I sincerely want to become your disciple."
"I understand." Gong Ruomei gave up the idea of driving Zheng Wenjie away, thought for a while and said, "I can't accept you. I'm still studying medicine, and I'm engaged. I'll get married after I finish my studies."
Seeing that Zheng Wenjie was only sad and didn't show any other emotions, Gong Ruomei continued, "Go to Fengcheng. I will give you a letter. You can give it to my father and listen to his arrangements."
Zheng Wenjie knew that now that it was discussed, there would be no problem in learning martial arts.
"But Master, I have already worshiped you. I will go wherever you are. Can you let me go to find my master? I know you really want me to learn martial arts, but your few moves made me dizzy. I want you to teach me in person, and I will definitely not affect you."
Gong Ruomei said angrily, "Don't talk about what happened just now. Forget it. If you don't want to go find my father, go wherever you want. Go find Ye Wen. I know him and he will take you in."
Zheng Wenjie shook his head: "Master, I didn't study for many years, but I know that a teacher is a father for life. Since I have already worshipped you as my master, it is impossible for me to look for someone else."
Gong Ruomei smiled, and looked even more beautiful, but her eyes were still cold. Zheng Wenjie could swear that he was not attracted by her beauty, and he said it sincerely, but seeing Gong Ruomei's expression, Zheng Wenjie knew that she didn't believe him.
"Zheng Wenjie, right? You said your family is gone, I believe you. But if you say that a teacher is a father for life, check your conscience, do you believe it?"
Zheng Wenjie sat up straight, touched his chest with his right hand, and looked at Gong Ruomei with a serious and solemn face: "I am speaking from the heart. I will go wherever you go, Master. If you don't believe me, just wait and see how I perform in the future."
Gong Ruomei put away her smile and her kindness, and said calmly, "Okay, follow me."
