Chapter 20 Questioning Hongjun
The monkey's face suddenly turned bitter, and he knew that he had encountered a great master.
No, a great master?
The monkey's eyes suddenly lit up again. Hasn't he always wanted to find a great master to learn from?
And this woman, bah, no, did the master just say that he wanted to accept me as a disciple?
The monkey gurgled, couldn't help swallowing, and then shouted loudly: "Teacher, teacher."
"Teacher, I know I was wrong. Please let me go so I can become your disciple!"
Taoist Huoyun looked at the monkey and said, "You monkey are not honest. I am afraid that if I let you go, you will run away again."
"I dare not escape, I dare not escape, the teacher believes in me."
The monkey got anxious when he heard this, and quickly explained: "Teacher, you don't know. I sincerely want to learn the Dao, but I have never met a person with great magical powers to accept me as a disciple. Today, I met the teacher and he said he would accept me. How could I run away?"
Upon hearing this, Taoist Master Huoyun believed it a little, knowing that this monkey had a very strong desire to pursue the Tao, otherwise he would not be bold enough to eavesdrop on the Taoist Master's preaching.
That’s right, this monkey is none other than the Six-Eared Macaque, one of the four mischievous monkeys.
The four monkeys who brought mischief to the world are the Spiritual Stone Monkey, the Red-butt Horse Monkey, the Ape Monkey and the Six-eared Macaque. Each of the four monkeys has magical powers, and the Six-eared Macaque's four elements are wind, so he is good at listening, able to observe principles, know the past and the future, and understand everything.
Hong Yun knew that he had a serious karma, but he had made plans early. It happened that he heard a monkey on the road and remembered that there was such a monkey.
He also shares a similar path to himself, so they have some affinity, so he thought of taking him as his disciple first and then making plans later.
At that moment, Taoist Master Huoyun released the monkey's restraints, and the monkey really stopped running. It came to Taoist Master Huoyun, kowtowed several times, and shouted, "Disciple Feng Lingzi greets the teacher, but I don't know your name yet?"
The monkey was also puzzled. In this ancient world, there were not many female fairies who had cultivated great magical powers.
As for Taoist Master Huoyun, it had never heard of such a powerful person.
Upon hearing this, Daoist Master Huoyun said, "My master is still in Zixiao Palace listening to the teachings. The one here is just an incarnation."
"This incarnation of the master is called Huoyun Daojun. As for my original body, my name is Hongyun. Do you know?"
The monkey was shocked when he heard this, and said, "I know, I know. Taoist Hongyun is the sworn brother of the Great Immortal Zhenyuan of Wanshou Mountain. I heard that he also has great magical powers, but I have never seen him, and I never thought that he is actually the teacher."
The monkey paused at the end, obviously having a hard time associating the beautiful Taoist woman in front of him with Taoist Hongyun. He even thought to himself, "Could it be that the one who swore brotherhood with Zhenyuan Daxian is not a man but a woman? Are they siblings instead of brothers?"
"or……"
The monkey's heart skipped a beat when he thought of a possibility. He prayed silently, hoping that the teacher he was worshipping would be more normal and not have any bad habits.
Taoist Master Huoyun saw the monkey's eyes rolling around and his expression was strange, but he knew what he was thinking. He was annoyed and said, "Monkey, you are so suspicious. With such a mentality, how can you learn the Tao in the future?"
The monkey was scolded and bowed to the ground, saying, "Teacher, I won't do it again. Please have mercy on me and don't abandon me."
The monkey started to panic and started to try to please Taoist Master Huoyun. He took out a bunch of wild fruits that he had picked from the mountains and presented them to Taoist Master Huoyun.
Taoist Huoyun was also at a loss for words, so he waved his hand and said, "Forget it, just put away your fruits first."
"I will treat you to your uncle's ginseng fruit in the future. Then you will know that these fruits are just ordinary fruits."
The monkey was surprised and said, "Teacher, are you not going to chase me away?" "When would I chase you away?" Taoist Huoyun asked back.
"This, this..." The monkey didn't know how to answer.
"All right."
Taoist Huoyun said again: "Don't think too much about it, but there is one more thing. Did you choose your name yourself?"
"My disciple took it randomly," the monkey replied.
"Not nice."
Taoist Huoyun said, "I'd better give you a new name. How about calling you Xuanfeng?"
"Xuan Feng?"
Hearing this, the monkey said happily: "Hello, Xuanfeng, hello, from now on, I will call you Xuanfeng."
"In that case, then follow me."
Taoist Master Huoyun didn't say much. He waved his hand and took the monkey with him. A cloud of fire floated under him, carrying the two of them, and flew towards Wanshou Mountain.
Back in the Zixiao Palace, Hongjun had been preaching for three thousand years, and one day he finally stopped.
And many powerful people in the audience also woke up one after another.
Hongjun just spoke: "Ever since the great god Pangu created the world and evolved all things in the primordial wasteland, it has gone through several calamities, each of which lasts about 5.6 billion years. I have attained the Tao since the creation of the world, and have practiced for several calamities. I also obtained the divine tool of creation, comprehended the way of heaven, and finally achieved this saintly position. I have established the Purple Sky Palace to teach sentient beings and preach the Dharma three times. This is the first time I have preached. If you have any questions when listening to my preaching, you can ask them here."
After hearing what Hongjun said, everyone pondered the meaning of his words and then reacted. One of the great masters asked first, "Teacher, are the teachings you taught different in the three times?"
Hongjun nodded and said, "The three lectures were all different. The first one was about the Way of Daluo, the second one was about the Way of Hunyuan, and the third one was about the Way of the Sage."
Someone else asked: "Teacher, we all know the Daluo Dao, but we don't know what Hun Yuan is and what a saint is?"
Hongjun replied: "Hunyuan refers to Hunyuan Daluo Jinxian. This is a realm above Daluo, you will know it in the next lecture. As for saints, it is not a realm, but a position in the world."
"A saint is also a Hunyuan Daluo Jinxian. He just understands the way of heaven, controls the power of heaven, and is in harmony with heaven. He can borrow the power of heaven and coexist with heaven. He is not stained by cause and effect, and is indestructible and eternal. He is eternal and free."
Everyone was shocked again when they heard this. Although Hongjun said that the saint was also a Hunyuan Daluo Jinxian and the two were in the same realm, who would not be fascinated when they heard that the saint had so many benefits?
Next, more people rushed to ask Hongjun questions, but Hongjun did not get angry and answered them patiently one by one.
Suddenly, Laozi, who was sitting on the first cushion, also stood up and asked, "Teacher, what are the methods to become a saint? Can you teach us?"
Hongjun replied: "All three thousand great ways can lead to the attainment of Hun Yuan. After Hun Yuan, if one's sainthood is not reached, one has the opportunity to become a saint. Whether it is attaining Hun Yuan or going one step further and achieving the sainthood, it is extremely difficult."
"You asked me what methods there are to become a saint. I have summarized three here and I can pass them on to you: the first is to use the innate spiritual treasure, entrust good thoughts, evil thoughts, and obsessions, kill the three corpses, and achieve Hun Yuan; the second is to follow the way of heaven, accumulate merits, and prove the way with merits; the third is relatively the most difficult, which is to rely on one's own magic power and supernatural powers to prove Hun Yuan."
"After Hun Yuan, if you comprehend the Way of Heaven and follow the Way of Heaven, you can become a saint!"
