Chapter 111 After the Calamity

Chapter 111 After the Calamity
First, all the saints left Zixiao Palace and each of them cleaned up the aftermath of this catastrophe. Patriarch Tongtian was the big winner among them and was also the busiest at this time.

On the one hand, he gathered all his disciples and gave them orders, and on the other hand, he found Shen Gongbao and ordered him to create a list to confer gods.

Originally, Yuanshi Tianzun wanted to do something with Shen Gongbao, after all, Shen Gongbao was his disciple.

But unexpectedly, after leaving Zixiao Palace, everything became clear to him, and he knew that Shen Gongbao was now a disciple of Confucianism.

Yuanshi Tianzun naturally had no idea what to do, but he was relieved. Although he couldn't control Shen Gongbao's actions, he thought Tongtian Jiaozhu couldn't control him either.

This would make things much easier for those disciples on the list.

Yuanshi Tianzun also gave up his face and followed the order of Hongjun Daozu to move the Taoist temple of Yuxu Palace in Kunlun Mountain to outside the Thirty-three Heavens.

On the other hand, he took the initiative to visit Qingjingtian. While Hongyun was still in Zixiao Palace, he started to establish a relationship with Zhenyuanzi.

Zhen Yuanzi naturally understood his meaning, but he did not object. Now the List of Gods is full of the true spirits of the disciples of the Chan and Buddhist sects.

Although he and Hongyun have a closer relationship with Buddhism, they still have to pay attention to the balance when it comes to deifying the gods.

We cannot allow Buddhism to gain an advantage in heaven. The Chanjiao is a good check and balance for Buddhism.

On the other hand, Jie Yin and Zhunti were the most frustrated. In this calamity, Hong Yun chose to side with Tong Tian Jiaozhu, which led to the destruction of Mahayana Buddhism.

That's fine. Zhunti can be re-established and managed slowly. It is not impossible for it to recover in the future.

But Zhunti originally wanted to find trouble with the ancestor of the Styx. Yes, no Zhunti among the saints can do that now.

He became the 'weakest saint' again. As the Hunyuan Daluo Jinxian Hou Tu, he was also no match for him.

But only the ancestor of the Styx, Zhunti, was holding a grudge and planned to seek revenge after visiting the Zixiao Palace.

Can bear fruit.

Hongjun issued a ban in Zixiao Palace, forbidding the saints to fight in the three realms of prehistoric times.

In addition, the Styx Patriarch took action this time to kill his incarnation, and he had the support of Tongtian Jiaozhu and Hou Tu Niangniang behind him.

Zhunti has no solution at all.

"How hateful!"

Zhunti gritted his teeth.

Jie Yin sighed at this time and said, "Brother, don't think too much. Now it seems that if we want to avoid the humiliation today, we have only one way to do it."

Upon hearing this, Zhunti turned to look at Jie Yin in confusion: "Brother, what's your method?"

"Promise!"

Jie Yin said: "Only when we have completely realized Hun Yuan, and not just relying on merit as we are now, can we compete with others."

"Otherwise, if we only look at merit and virtue to prove our truth, we won't be able to defeat anyone among the saints."

"Don't think about the Chaos Bell anymore. As for Buddhism, we are not in a hurry and can rebuild it later."

Upon hearing this, Zhunti pondered for a long time, and finally nodded deeply, saying to the guide: "Brother, what you said is really true. It really enlightens me."

"I was obsessed with appearances. I was a little arrogant when I got the Chaos Bell before. But now that I have lost the Chaos Bell, it is a test for me."

"Everything is as Senior Brother said."

He stepped forward and said, "That's right. There are gains and losses, gains and losses. As long as we are still here, the West will prosper sooner or later."

"Okay, Junior Brother, let's go to the Thirty-three Heavens and set up a dojo."

"Yes." Not long after, the two saints, Jie Yin and Zhunti, also established a temple outside the Thirty-three Heavens, which was named Great Western Heaven.

In addition to these, the Saint of Taiqing established the Great Red Heaven, the Saint of Yuqing Yuanshi Tianzun established the Qingwei Heaven, and the Saint of Shangqing Tongtian Jiaozhu established the Yuyu Heaven.

From this day on, the traces of the saints in the Three Realms gradually disappeared.

As time went on, the sentient beings in the three realms gradually forgot the existence of the saints. The shocking events that had happened and the disputes among the saints also turned into illusory myths and legends.

Those newly promoted immortals only knew that there was heaven above and hell below, but they were skeptical about those ancient stories and legends.

I don't believe there are saints in the world.

Only those monks who have truly witnessed the struggles among saints and the great battles to confer gods know that the saints have not disappeared, but are outside the thirty-three heavens, overlooking the world and all living beings.

The horror of the saint is self-evident. After all, isn't this vast land divided into four parts a clear proof of this?
In the era when saints did not intervene, Heaven became the most powerful ruling force in the world, controlling all living beings in the three realms, establishing various heavenly rules, and giving orders to all immortals, and no one dared to disobey.

In addition to these, there are several other major religions that are thriving. One of them is Jie Religion. As the biggest winner in the Conferred God Tribulation, Jie Religion is naturally going to flourish.

However, it was also after this battle that Tongtian Sect Master reorganized his teachings, absorbed the concepts of other sects, and integrated them into his own sect.

The Jiejiao today is very different from before. Although it still recruits disciples widely, it no longer accepts indiscriminately and pays attention to the assessment of the character of its disciples.

If there are disciples who violate the sect rules and morals, there will be various punishments.

It is precisely because of this that Jiejiao was able to truly flourish, rather than flourishing and then declining and then weakening.

It can be said that this time, Master Tongtian really defied heaven and changed his fate.

In the original situation, there were only three religions flourishing, namely Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism, and there was no Jie Religion among them.

But now, there is the Jiejiao.

That’s right, besides Jiejiao, the other major religions that flourished were Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism.

Needless to say, Hongyun had already made plans for Confucianism. After the great catastrophe, he sent all his disciples to the lower world to preach.

Confucianism and Taoism are favored by the Way of Heaven, so they naturally develop and prosper.

During the great calamity of the Conferred Gods, Taoism had only one disciple, the Great Master Xuandu, and the Great Master Xuandu escaped the disaster.

Therefore, after the catastrophe, Taoism also developed. Although it was not as prosperous as Jiejiao and Confucianism, it was also extremely powerful.

As for Buddhism, although it was destroyed once in the great catastrophe, as mentioned before, it was backed up by Theravada Buddhism.

Mahayana Buddhism, however, can be re-established at any time, and the teachings of Mahayana Buddhism are so attractive.

As a result, Mahayana Buddhism developed extremely rapidly, and it was a latecomer that surpassed other sects in one fell swoop, and even gradually threatened Confucianism, Taoism, and the Three Religions.

Apart from this, the three major sects, namely, the Chan Sect, the Dixian Sect, and the Human Sect, are declining day by day and gradually dying out, with very few disciples.

However, the reason for this is also related to the corresponding saint. Hongyun is more laissez-faire about the religion. After all, this great religion is also an immortal one and can be messed around with as it pleases.

The reason why Zhen Yuanzi and Yuanshi Tianzun did not develop their own great religions was, firstly, that they realized that the development prospects of their own great religions did not seem to be very promising, and secondly, both of them were working hard to practice and focus on attaining enlightenment.

To the extent that the two of them almost gave up on the merits of preaching, they had to first complete the path of slaying the three corpses and proving the truth.

The many battles among saints made these saints realize that merits are not reliable. Only by slaying the three corpses, or proving the truth with force, or taking another path of proving the truth like Hong Yun, can they master the strength that truly belongs to them and will never be lost.

However, even so, the first person among everyone to achieve Hunyuan was not Yuanshi Tianzun, nor Zhenyuanzi, nor even any saint.
