Chapter 5 Go fishing
When he got home, it was almost dark. Li Shengli simply fried some cabbage and heated up two steamed buns and quickly finished his dinner. This cook is supposed to serve others, but after serving too many people, he is too lazy to serve himself.
Li Shengli moved a chair and sat next to the light, half lying on the chair, holding a cookbook in his hand, studying how to cook. At the moment, he had no conditions to practice and could only figure it out on his own.
After reading for a while, Li Shengli lay on the bed and became dazed. There was nothing to do.
Not long after, the noise in the yard died down. Li Shengli saw that it was almost time, so he got up, boiled some water, washed his feet, turned off the lights, and prepared to go to bed.
Early the next morning, Li Shengli woke up to the sound of a rooster crowing. Today was a holiday and Li Shengli didn't need to go to work, so he had a rare good rest.
There are no alarm clocks these days, and the best alarm clock is the crowing of roosters outside.
Li Shengli rolled around in bed twice, his stomach growling with hunger, and he could not fall asleep at all.
If the food is not oily, you will feel hungry easily.
Lee Seung-ri was going to go out for a little exercise. He was going to run and do some stretching exercises. He didn't have enough food to eat, so he didn't dare to do too much exercise.
When you leave the house, lock the door, which means no one is home. If someone sees the lock, they will not come in.
When I went out, the three aunts in the house opposite had already gotten up and started preparing breakfast.
Li Shengli didn't say hello and walked out the door on his own, preparing to run a few laps in the nearby park.
After going out, he jogged towards the park. When he arrived at the park, Li Shengli quickened his pace. He ran around the park a few times, did a few sets of stretching exercises, such as push-ups and squats, and worked up a good sweat.
Seeing that it was getting late and there were more people on the street, Li Shengli prepared to go home and wash up.
After leaving the park, the street gradually became more crowded. Passing by a shop selling buns and sesame cakes, Li Shengli sniffed and touched his pocket, as he didn't have any money.
Li Shengli sighed, turned his head and jogged towards the courtyard. Let’s eat next time.
When we returned to the courtyard, most people in the courtyard had gotten up and were preparing to eat.
The yard suddenly became lively with the clatter of dishes and chopsticks and the shouts of parents waking up their children.
Li Shengli first removed the lock on the door and returned to the room.
I took the thermos and poured some hot water into the basin, then added a basin of warm water. I washed my face first, then washed my face and wiped my body with a towel.
I went to the kitchen, grabbed a handful of cornmeal from the bag in the cupboard, mixed it with cold water, and prepared to make cornmeal porridge. Then I took a steamed bread and heated it up.
This is also possible without any conditions, otherwise I would have to make two fried eggs.
After cooking porridge and heating up steamed bread, Li Shengli picked up the toothbrush and toothcup and began to wash. Even if you are a person, you can't ignore hygiene, and it's better to be diligent.
After washing up, the porridge in the pot was ready. Li Shengli ate the pickled vegetables and took a bite of the steamed bread in his hand. He missed the taste of big fish and meat more and more.
After breakfast, Li Shengli prepared to go out to find some good stuff.
This was a difficult time, with a popular policy of streamlining and the government not encouraging extravagant celebrations. Lee Seung-ri's superb cooking skills were no longer useful.
Li Shengli took out his homemade fishing rod and carefully took out a box from under the bed. The box contained homemade baits, which were all made by himself from the raw materials he had painstakingly collected during the hot weather. They were homemade red worm and earthworm pellets. Grind dried earthworms and dried red worms, add appropriate amounts of snowflake powder and silk powder, mix well, add water and rub them into strips, dry them in the shade, and make them into pellets after drying.
Take out a small bottle and a small bag of soybean meal. This is used for making nests.
After packing up his things and carrying his stool and bucket out of the house, Li Shengli found that his third uncle Yan Bugui was also carrying a bucket and preparing to go out.
"Uncle, are you going fishing too?" Li Shengli greeted with a smile.
"Hey, Shengli. Let's go together." The third uncle Yan Bugui was also happy when he saw that Li Shengli had the same equipment as him.
Speaking of fishing, the two of them had gone fishing together. The third uncle Yan Bugui envied Li Shengli. It was unknown where Li Shengli got the bait recipe from, and he was willing to use good bait to make a nest, so he almost always got something when he went out.
"Okay, uncle. I'll lock the door first." Li Shengli responded with a smile and turned around to lock the door.
"Shengli, there's no need to lock the door every day. Just let your third aunt check it." Third uncle Yan Bugui asked curiously as he looked at Li Shengli's actions.
"Uncle, look at what you said. Auntie can't always stare at my door. This is the front yard. If someone sneaks in when Auntie isn't paying attention..." Li Shengli didn't elaborate, but raised his eyebrows to signal Uncle to figure it out himself.
When the third uncle Yan Bugui heard this, he immediately stopped talking about asking the third aunt to help watch the door. If something really got lost, who would be responsible? He would not suffer any loss.
Li Shengli wrapped his coat tightly around him and lowered the ears of his hat to cover his ears tightly as it was a very cold day.
The two went out together. Fishing is a technical job. They soon came to the place where they often fished. This place is usually a gathering place for anglers, and there were already quite a few people there.
"Uncle, should we go together or separately?" Li Shengli found a place with few people and turned to ask Yan Bugui.
"Let's separate first. If all else fails, I'll look for the nest you made." The third uncle Yan Bugui thought for a while and said, he would find a place to test the waters first.
"Okay, then I'll leave first." Li Shengli didn't care.
Li Shengli found a place to put down the stool, found the right place to smash a hole in the ice, put down the bait, and put the bucket on the side.
Using a stool to occupy a position, Li Shengli stretched out his body at a distance to warm up his lower body.
After a while, he felt that the time was almost right and the nest was ready, and the fish should come back. Li Shengli sat on a stool, hung the bait and started fishing.
If there is no fish biting the hook every ten minutes or so, Li Shengli will always lift it up, and if the bait is gone, he will replace it.
Half an hour later, a few uncles nearby caught some fish, although they were not very big. At least they were not empty-handed.
At this moment, Li Shengli's hook began to move. The feather float began to float up and down. After waiting patiently for a while, the fish finally took the bait, and Li Shengli quickly pulled up the fishing rod.
A small fish that was less than the length of a palm was caught. Although the fish was not big, it was still a harvest.
Li Shengli continued to fish, perhaps his luck came, and he reaped the rewards one after another.
Time passed by little by little, and it was almost afternoon. There was no catch for a long time. I don’t know if all the fish in this nest have run away. Li Shengli’s stomach began to growl with hunger.
