Chapter 151 The Legendary Plot

Chapter 151 The Legendary Plot
"Xu Damao, where did you get these two chickens?"

That day, Li Shengli came back from work and Xu Damao walked in from the gate pushing his bicycle. When Yan Bugui saw the chicken hanging on Xu Damao's bicycle, his eyes widened and he moved closer to it, staring at it eagerly.

"Uncle, take a look." Xu Damao pointed at the two old hens hanging on his handlebars with a proud look on his face.

"Let me see, Damao, these two chickens are so fat." Yan Bugui looked greedy.

"Uncle, please stop looking at it. I'm not giving it to you." Xu Damao said with a bit of contempt, "I'm saving it for the New Year."

Even though this money was taken from the Red Star Commune, it couldn't be given to Yan Bugui for free. Xu Damao would not do anything that didn't benefit him.

"I didn't even think about it. This chicken is so expensive." Yan Bugui said a little embarrassedly, although he was a little delusional, "Da Mao, do you want your third aunt to take care of it for you? Your third aunt is the best at it."

"No need for that. I'm saving it for the New Year." Xu Damao held his head high and didn't intend to pay attention to Yan Bugui's little plan.

Li Shengli was watching the scene in front of his door, thinking that this was probably the power of plot correction. The chicken given by Xu Damao was not for Lou Xiao'e to use during her confinement after childbirth, but was to be saved for the New Year.

"Why, Li Shengli, are you jealous?" Xu Damao looked at Li Shengli with a sidelong glance and saw his smug face.

"Xu Damao, you know best whether this was given to you by others or you asked for it." Li Shengli said indifferently. You, Xu Damao, are showing off in front of me just because of a little bit of bribes. You are overthinking it.

"Of course it was given to me by someone else." Xu Damao felt a little guilty, and then said in a pretentious manner.

"I don't want to bother with you." Li Shengli glanced at Xu Damao with disdain and went back home.

"Hey, uncle, look at this guy." Xu Damao pointed at Li Shengli and stared at Yan Bugui with his eyes tilted.

"Well, he is just like that, let's not talk about him anymore." Yan Bugui is also good at changing his attitude according to the situation. "Da Mao, you are still better as a projectionist, you can earn more extra money."

"That's not true." Xu Damao's tail was about to lift up after hearing Yan Bugui's compliment. "Come on, Third Uncle, we don't have the old hen, so you can take this bunch of mushrooms."

Xu Damao took a bunch of mushrooms hanging on the car and handed it to Yan Bugui. Yan Bugui took it and thanked him repeatedly. It was said that Yan Bugui had no prestige in the hospital. Who would appreciate such a small favor?

"Shengli, what's wrong? I heard some noise outside." Han Qiuyun held the child and coaxed him.

"It's okay. Xu Damao got two old hens from somewhere and is talking to Teacher Yan across the street in the yard." Li Shengli came to the stove and warmed himself by the fire.

"Speaking of Xu Damao, Lou Xiao'e hasn't gotten pregnant yet." Han Qiuyun is usually close to Lou Xiao'e.

"What are you pregnant with? If Lou Xiao'e doesn't get divorced, she'll never have a child in her life." Li Shengli warmed his hands and reached out to take the child from Han Qiuyun's arms.

"I have to make a car for the child. He will be learning to walk next year." Li Shengli said as he held the child in his arms and rocked him to sleep.

"Why are you in such a hurry? Xiaozhi is not even one year old." Han Qiuyun came closer and took a look at the child.

"Make preparations early." Li Shengli couldn't say that things would become very chaotic after the New Year.

"I almost forgot because of your interruption. Isn't Xu Damao taking medicine?" Han Qiuyun patted Li Shengli and said unhappily.

"What's the use of taking medicine? I don't know where Xu Damao heard this folk remedy from. He doesn't even go to see a regular doctor. Look, none of Xu Damao's family members know about this, which means Xu Damao didn't tell anyone about it." Li Shengli pointed towards the backyard.

"That's bad luck for Lou Xiao'e." Han Qiuyun sighed. "It's okay now, because she hasn't gotten into bad luck yet." Li Shengli curled his lips and said disapprovingly, she will be in bad luck after Xu Damao reports her family.

"What do you mean it's not time for bad luck yet?" Han Qiuyun looked at Li Shengli in surprise. Li Shengli then realized that he had let the cat out of the bag.

"It's nothing. I mean these two people won't go far. They will get divorced sooner or later. That's why Lou Xiao'e is in trouble." Li Shengli changed the subject.

"That's right. With Lou Xiao'e's temper, she should have kicked Xu Damao out by now." Han Qiuyun also remembered Lou Xiao'e's hot temper.

"It's not easy for her to endure until now."

"It would be even harder to find a partner if she was divorced." Li Shengli shook his head.

"I'll go out and buy a chicken in a couple of days, and then when the New Year comes, I'll call Qiuyu and we'll have a good time celebrating the New Year." Li Shengli thought about it and realized that he didn't seem to have bought everything for his family.

"Okay, I'll tell Qiuyu tomorrow." Han Qiuyun nodded. It wasn't good to leave Han Qiuyu alone at home during the New Year.

While Li Shengli was talking at home, Xu Damao was pushing his bicycle towards the backyard with a proud look on his face, totally unaware that there was a pair of small eyes in the middle yard staring at the chicken hanging on his handlebars.

Banggeng saw Xu Damao's actions clearly from his own window.

After a few days, Li Shengli started to work the early shift. After the early shift, Li Shengli went to the vegetable market, ready to buy a chicken and some meat.

It didn't take long for Li Shengli to come out of the vegetable market with an old hen in his hand.

"Shengli, where did you get this old hen?" Yan Bugui was a little surprised when he saw that Xu Damao and Li Shengli brought old hens from outside one after another.

"Of course I bought it at the market." Li Shengli looked at Yan Bugui like a fool, "Look at what I'm holding in my hand. I just came back from the market."

"Oh, I know." Yan Bugui blushed and felt a little embarrassed.

"Shengli, do you need your third aunt to help you deal with it?" Yan Bugui would not miss any opportunity to take advantage.

"No thanks." Li Shengli refused without even thinking.

"Uncle, if you have the time, why don't you try fishing? Then at least you can have a meat dish on the table during the New Year instead of eating dumplings stuffed with sauerkraut every year." Li Shengli teased.

"Hey, what are you talking about? The sauerkraut dumplings made by your third aunt are the most authentic." Yan Bugui is not embarrassed about this.

"Okay, you go about your business. I'm going back." Li Shengli didn't intend to argue with Yan Bugui anymore.

"Hey, Shengli." Yan Bugui was just about to say that the onions you bought were good, but Li Shengli didn't know what he was planning.

"That's right, Uncle Third, the man probably hasn't left yet, you can still buy it if you go over now." Li Shengli doesn't indulge him.

"Hey, this kid." Yan Bugui's face suddenly became stern.
