Chapter 24 Beihai Park

Chapter 24 Beihai Park
After the proposal, my uncle and aunt went back to Wangjia Village the next day. Wang Jianfeng originally wanted to keep them for two days, but the two elders insisted on going back, so he had no choice but to let them do as they pleased.

In fact, they insisted on going back, firstly because they were worried about their home, and secondly because the uncle wanted to visit the grave of Wang Jianfeng's father and tell the grave about Wang Jianfeng's marriage.

Afterwards, Wang Jianfeng started moving bricks again. Time passed unknowingly. November was over quickly and December had arrived. The first snow of the year came quietly last night.

In November, Wang Jianfeng still exceeded the purchase task target and would be promoted to a regular employee in two months. During this period, Wang Jianfeng and Yu Li also went on a date and their relationship became deeper and deeper.

As for Qin Huairu, for some reason she hadn't come to see Wang Jianfeng recently, but Wang Jianfeng didn't think too much about it. In recent days, she seemed to have wanted to say something to Wang Jianfeng several times but hesitated.

It is mid-December, and today is Wang Jianfeng's 20th birthday, so Wang Jianfeng used this as an excuse to invite Yu Li to his home.

Early in the morning, Wang Jianfeng went to the supply and marketing cooperative to buy some candies, two bottles of wine, a pack of cigarettes and a bag of tea, and then went to Yu Li's house. Yu Li did not go to do odd jobs today, and she dressed up a little at home and waited for Wang Jianfeng.

"dong dong dong"

"Xiao Li, here I come"

Wang Jianfeng came to Yu Li's house and knocked on the door, shouting.

"Wait, it's coming"

"You brought so many things here."

After opening the door, Yu Li saw Wang Jianfeng carrying large and small bags of things and spoke with both happiness and reproach.

"Why, you're starting to feel sorry for me now?"

"Where can I have it?"

"These are all bought for your family. They don't cost much."

"Okay, let's go"

Wang Jianfeng took Yu Li on a bicycle, attracting a lot of attention along the way. The man was handsome, and the woman was a first-class beauty, except that she looked a little immature. The key point was that there was a bicycle. This is like the luxury cars and beauties in later generations. They are the focus wherever they go. It is hard not to attract attention.

The two of them rode all the way to Beihai Park. In that era, there were not so many places for men and women to date, so Wang Jianfeng chose Beihai Park as the place, which was also a symbol of the city.
Beihai Park is located at No. 1 Wenjin Street, Xicheng District, Beijing. It is adjacent to Jingshan Park in the east, Zhongnanhai in the south, and Shichahai in the north. The park covers an area of 68.2 square meters (including 38.9 square meters of water area and 29.3 square meters of land area). Beihai Park is centered on Beihai. The Liao, Jin, and Yuan dynasties built palaces here. The Ming and Qing dynasties built imperial gardens here. It is an ancient Chinese royal garden. It was opened to the public as a park in the th year of the Republic of China. Wang Jianfeng often went to Shichahai to fish before, and he was relatively familiar with the area, so he brought Yu Li here.

The two first came to Xiaoxitian on the north bank. These tourist attractions have not yet been seriously commercialized, and the government has only added some public facilities, so the scenery is very beautiful. There is also the atmosphere and historical heritage of the royal garden.

Xiaoxitian was built in the 1768rd year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1770) and completed in the 1200th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (13.5). It was built by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty to celebrate the birthday of his mother, Empress Dowager Xiaosheng. The main building is the Paradise, with a total area of square meters and a beam span of meters. It is the largest square pavilion-style palace building in China. The windows and nan fans on all four sides of the hall are finely carved with patterns. A golden plaque is hung high in the hall, with the words "Paradise" written by Emperor Qianlong. Above is a golden octagonal dome with a dragon caisson. The hall is surrounded by water on all sides and has a bridge. There is a glazed archway in the east, west, south and north, a small square pavilion in each corner, and a crescent river in the south with a carved stone bridge on it. There was originally a clay sculpture of Putuo in the South China Sea in the hall. There were Arhat Buddha statues on the mountain, and the sea water was painted at the foot of the mountain to symbolize the Putuo wonderland in the Buddhist world, so it was called "Arhat Mountain" and "Island".

Yu Li and Wang Jianfeng walked side by side. Wang Jianfeng originally wanted to hold hands, but Yu Li was shy and refused directly, so they could only walk and talk at the same time.

After visiting Xiaoxitian, Wang Jianfeng and Yu Li went to Jiulongbi and Jingxinzhai.

The Nine Dragon Wall is the screen wall in front of the original Great Mirror Wisdom Hall, built in the 1756st year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (5.96). The wall is 1.60 meters high, 25.52 meters thick and 635 meters long. The two sides of the wall are inlaid with seven-color glazed bricks and tiles. There are nine large and colorful dragons on each side, flying and playing with pearls in the waves and clouds. There are a total of large and small dragons on the wall. There are three ancient Nine Dragon Walls in China, but this one is the only double-sided wall.

Jingxinzhai covers an area of about 1757 square meters and is the most exquisite garden in Beihai. Jingxinzhai was originally an ordinary official residence in the Ming Dynasty. In the nd year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (), Jingxinzhai (then called "Jingqingzhai") was built when "Xitian Fanjing" was expanded. It is also called "Qianlong Small Garden". The main buildings in the garden include Jingqingzhai, Baosu Shuwu, Yunqinzhai, Bixian Pavilion, Beichawu, Yanhuaxuan, Qinquanlang, Zhenluan Pavilion, and stone bridge. Jingxinzhai is backed by mountains in the east, leans against the temple in the west, and faces the blue water in the south. The pavilions, terraces, corridors, pavilions, stone bridges, pools, stacked stones, rockery, and towers in the garden have both the grandeur of northern gardens and the exquisiteness of southern gardens.

Then the two of them went to Huafangzhai and Haopujian on the east bank. They talked and laughed along the way. Yu Li was often amused by Wang and then immediately became reserved.

During their visit, Wang Jianfeng and Yu Li also met many people visiting Beihai Park, including couples who were out on dates like them, as well as other kinds of tourists.

Unfortunately, Wang Jianfeng didn't have a camera, so they couldn't take pictures of some of the wonderful memories and so many beautiful scenery. It seemed that he had to find a way to get a camera, but this seemed a bit difficult.

Huafangzhai is located on the east bank of Beihai Lake. It was built in the 1757nd year of Emperor Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (). It is an independent courtyard hidden in the mountains and forests. The front hall is the "Spring Rain Pond" with a pool in the middle, and the main hall "Huafangzhai" is in the north. There is a courtyard in the east and west, the "Gu Ke Courtyard" in the east and the "Xiao Linglong" in the west. The entire Huafangzhai is surrounded by red corridors, with a delicate structure and a unique environment. It looks like a large ship moored by the Beihai Lake. It was originally named after Ouyang Xiu's "Huafangzhai Notes". Emperor Qianlong often visited here, Emperor Guangxu once lived here, and Empress Dowager Cixi also often came here for banquets and to listen to storytelling.

Haopujian is located at the north end of Xiaotu Hill on the east bank of Beihai Park. It is a garden within a garden in Beihai Park. "Hao" and "Pu" are both ancient Chinese water names. According to "Zhuangzi·Autumn Water", Zhuangzi and Hui Shi were swimming on the Haoliang. Zhuangzi said, "The fish are out. The fish are so happy." Hui Shi asked, "You are not a fish, how do you know the joy of fish?" Zhuangzi retorted, "You are not me, how do you know that I don't know the joy of fish?" Based on this, a small garden was built with a small bridge close to the water surface for the emperor and empress to watch fish and fish. Emperor Qianlong once hosted ministers in this garden.

Beihai Park is really too big, and Wang Jianfeng’s main purpose was not to enjoy the beautiful scenery, but to enhance his relationship with Yu Li.

After walking for half a day, they were both a little tired, and they became closer and closer, and their relationship became better. Such beautiful scenery and rich cultural heritage were wasted, and the two of them only cared about falling in love.

Afterwards, Wang Jianfeng achieved his goal and left Beihai Park with Yu Li.
