Chapter 97 Hugs Are Not the Theme of Tonight
"Harry."
Gwen looked at the panting Green Goblin, then at Harry who was crying with his head down, and couldn't help but shout to him.
Harry slowly raised his head.
The mask on Peter's face also faded away, revealing his true face.
"Peter, Gwen why you guys?"
Harry asked the two of them in tears.
Gwen lowered her head and clenched her fists, unsure of how to answer the question.
"I"
Gwen stammered, but ultimately said nothing.
"Oh!"
Perhaps he was too emotional, the next second, Harry fell to the ground and fainted again.
"Cough cough."
The Green Goblin coughed, holding his waist and straightening his upper body on the ground. The red in his eyes faded and gradually became clear.
Looking at Harry who had fainted on the ground, a trace of pain flashed in his eyes.
"Peter, Gwen, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything I did to you."
Norman Osborn's demonic personality disappeared, blood constantly flowing out of his mouth, his eyes revealing a guilty look, "I'm sorry, that was not my intention."
Gwen was holding up the unconscious Harry. When she heard Norman Osborn's words, she looked at him in surprise.
She helped Harry to the sofa and leaned his back against it.
Then he quickly walked to Norman and wanted to cover his wound.
Although he hated this green devil before, that hatred has now disappeared with everything that has happened.
The Green Goblin stopped Gwen from bandaging his wound, and looked up at Peter who had been silent all the time and said, "Peter, I'm sorry, I have become a bad person who does all kinds of evil. Don't believe what I said just now."
Looking down at Norman Osborn, whose life was gradually slipping away, Peter shook his head, "No, I won't."
Peter knew that this guy had another demon soul living inside him, so he wouldn't be affected by his words.
And although Norman looks like a good guy now, there is no guarantee that he will turn back into the Green Goblin in the next second.
So Peter did not let down his guard against him.
"Gwen, Peter I'm proud that Harry has friends like you."
His voice became weaker and weaker. He looked at Harry and said intermittently: "I hope you can help Harry forget this matter. I don't want him to live in regret."
Gwen knew that Norman wanted Harry to forget that he killed his father, but she didn't know how.
She shook her head and said to Norman, "I'm afraid I can't do that."
"Harry has been undergoing psychological suggestion therapy. As long as you say the key words, you can give him psychological suggestion and make him forget everything that happened today."
"The key word is 'herbivore.'
Finally, Norman used all his strength to say "Tell Harry I love him" and then closed his eyes completely.
Gwen supported Norman Osborn's back, watched him breathe his last, and finally gently placed him on the ground.
She stood up with red eyes and looked at Peter.
Although this was the first villain she had defeated, she did not feel any sense of victory. Instead, she felt extremely heavy-hearted.
Peter walked up to the unconscious Harry and said the word "herbivore".
"Harry."
Harry whispered back from his stupor, "Yes."
"You're Harry Osborn, aren't you?"
"Yes." Peter hinted to him, "You have been resting in your room tonight. You have never been to the scene and you don't know what happened there."
"Yes, I have been resting in my room."
After giving Harry psychological hints, Peter helped him up and walked outside.
Although he had no sympathy for Norman, he still fulfilled his promise for Harry's sake.
After putting Harry on the bed in his room, Peter returned to the scene and heard the sound of helicopter propellers turning outside.
Before he could re-enter the scene, Gwen jumped to his side and grabbed his arm.
"We have to go, Peter."
The helicopter's headlights shone into the dilapidated room, and Norman Osborn's body appeared in the light.
When the driver was about to look for other traces, he only saw the black and white figure of the Spider-Woman flash by.
In the bell tower, Gwen's mood has not yet calmed down.
Looking up, she found that there was a drizzle falling above her head.
Exhaling, Gwen put on her hood and said frustratedly to Peter who was standing next to her: "I messed up, didn't I, Peter?"
"No you didn't, Gwen."
Peter slowly took off the mask on his face, felt the raindrops on his head and said to Gwen: "You are not God, Gwen, you can't predict all the changes in things."
Gwen turned around, looking at Peter with her pale blue eyes, and said sadly, "I always thought that as long as I was a justice messenger, I would instinctively know what to do is right. I never thought it would be like this."
"I don't know how to face Harry without the mask."
Peter comforted Gwen, "It's not your fault, Gwen."
"I know, but it"
Gwen suddenly thought of the words about death again.
She couldn't help but confide her thoughts to Peter, "This isn't supposed to be this way. We are warriors, and we should win, even though it may cost us."
She felt as if a stone was blocked in her heart, "but the price is too high, everything is shattered."
Peter looked at the dark night in the distance, and after a moment of silence, he said to Gwen: "You can never measure the price of justice, Gwen. When you stand in front of everyone, the price of justice is pain."
"I know right, how do you know he is Norman Osborn, Peter?"
Gwen seemed to understand, but she changed the subject and stopped talking about such heavy things.
"He sent people to follow us, but I first discovered his men, and then I thought about the robots I had seen in Osborn Manor, so I guessed that the Green Goblin who attacked you was him."
Gwen exhaled. "Is that so? I always thought that the traffic accident was an accident."
She said to Peter: "Now that I think about it, it should be Norman's people. I should have discovered it earlier."
Gwen was in a state of remorse.
Facing Gwen who was in a bad mood, Peter said nothing and just accompanied her quietly.
Gwen sat on the cold ground and suddenly looked up at Peter and asked, "Peter, can I have a hug?"
Peter nodded and squatted down.
Gwen hugged him immediately.
"Although hugs aren't the theme tonight, thank you, Peter."
Gwen felt a little warmer in the drizzle.
His own black and white uniform was stained with blood and dirt, but Peter's black uniform was not damaged at all.
She even smelled a faint pleasant scent.
She found she couldn't get away from the smell.
