Chapter 9 Is this Doctor Strange? !
NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
"Good job, Doctor Strange."
The doctor in surgical gown let out a long sigh and thanked his colleague next to him, Dr. Stephen Strange.
Under normal circumstances, this operation would take at least thirty hours.
But with Strange as the surgeon, the operation was successfully completed in three hours.
Although he hated Strange's arrogance, he had to admit that he did have a pair of "miracle hands".
"Sorry, I have something else to do. I have to go now."
Strange had no idea of his colleague's inner thoughts. He took off his gloves and pressed his sore shoulder.
After he pushed open the door of the operating room, before he could even breathe a sigh of relief, he saw a couple walking towards him with anxious looks on their faces.
"Doctor, my daughter."
"The operation was a success and she will be able to talk and walk again soon."
Strange didn't wait for the other party to ask and spoke directly to the patient's family.
Upon hearing that their daughter was safe, the couple immediately burst into tears of joy.
"That's great, it's really great, thank you doctor, thank you!"
The husband held Strange's hand and expressed his gratitude excitedly.
Strange calmly pulled his hand away and said to the two, "Because of the anesthesia, she will wake up later. You can go back and rest first."
The wife shook her head and said excitedly, "No, I want to stay with our daughter until she wakes up."
Strange nodded, said nothing more, and turned to leave.
As soon as I walked out of the hospital corridor, I heard a voice behind me, "Please wait a moment, Dr. Strange."
Strange turned around and saw his female colleague in the emergency room, Christine, walking towards him.
He stopped and waited for the other person to come up, "You look good today, Kristen."
Christine shrugged her shoulders. "I look good all the time. I just heard you comforting the patient's family. This is different from the impression I have of Dr. Strange."
"uh-huh."
Strange smiled and said, "I asked them to go home and rest for a while because I was worried that they would collapse and not be able to pay for the surgery."
Christine was choked by the other party's words.
After a while, he said faintly: "This is the Doctor Strange I know."
He is conceited and extremely intelligent, but by no means a likable person.
"After all, they need a doctor who can heal their daughter, not a psychiatrist who can comfort them, right, Christine?"
Strange, who didn't care, quickly changed the subject, "By the way, there is a medical lecture at New York University tonight. Can I invite you?"
Christine smiled and greeted the colleagues passing by, then turned around and said, "Although I am very interested in the medical lecture, I have to be on duty tonight, so I'm sorry."
Although she could ask her colleagues to help her switch shifts, she said she would have to think carefully about dating such a conceited guy.
The invitation was rejected, but Strange didn't care.
For a successful man who lives in a big mansion and drives a Lamborghini, he has no shortage of female companions.
The two walked to the elevator while talking.
"Ding"!
The elevator door opened.
Peter looked up from inside the elevator.
What caught his eye was Strange and Christine standing at the elevator entrance.
Doctor Strange?
His eyes were immediately drawn to Strange, that very iconic horse face. Originally, he saw Stephen Strange's name in the introduction of New York Presbyterian Hospital and felt familiar with it.
Only now did he remember that the other person was the genius doctor before he became Doctor Strange.
Countless thoughts flashed through his mind, but Peter's expression remained unchanged. He quickly retracted his gaze and stepped out of the elevator.
The other party doesn’t know magic now and is not the magician who possesses the Time Stone.
He wasn't interested in Doctor Strange like this.
After the two passed each other, Strange frowned and looked at Peter's back.
"what happened?"
Seeing that Strange's eyes were always on a stranger, Christine couldn't help but ask curiously.
"nothing."
Strange shook his head, pressed the button for the elevator to the basement level, and asked Christine, "Which floor are you going to?"
"Second floor."
Kristen reached out and pressed the elevator button for the second floor, "Anesthesiology on the second floor. I need to have a small meeting. I hope it won't take up too much time."
The two of them were in the elevator and the air suddenly became quiet.
Strange recalled the strange feeling just now and his brows almost frowned.
When he brushed past the other person just now, his heartbeat quickened a bit and his breathing became heavy in an instant, as if an invisible and terrifying pressure suddenly attacked him.
Taking a deep breath to push the strange feeling behind him, he forced himself to focus on the evening's medical lecture.
hospital.
"Lian Brown, you can call me Doctor Ryan."
In the consulting room, a white doctor introduced himself to Peter with a smile.
"We discussed this on the phone, Dr. Ryan."
Peter took in his surroundings and sat down across from Dr. Ryan.
Ryan Brown was wearing a pair of glasses, was about thirty years old, and had a gentle smile on his face.
He was not at all angry at Peter's slightly offensive words, but stood up, walked to the door and locked it.
"Yes, just as we agreed, I will keep your condition confidential, and it is absolutely confidential, and I will get the corresponding compensation."
Peter nodded. "That's great. It's clear that Dr. Ryan is a smart and flexible doctor."
The Dr. Ryan in front of him was the consulting doctor Peter had contacted in advance.
Before entering the hospital, he had checked the other party's background.
He was warned by the hospital for arbitrarily collecting thank-you money from patients' families and operating in an irregular manner, and has a bad reputation in the hospital.
It was for this reason that Peter chose the other party to be his doctor.
After all, a doctor who is easily bribed by money is the most suitable person to do business with.
"As you requested, I will not record this diagnosis and treatment, and will destroy and erase any of your medical records in the hospital. In other words, only the two of us know the results of this diagnosis and treatment."
Dr. Ryan pushed up the frames of his glasses and assured Peter.
Although he didn't know why the patient in front of him went through so much trouble to see a doctor, adhering to his professional spirit of never asking too many questions, he forced himself to suppress his curiosity.
In addition, although Peter looked extremely young, the cold and dangerous aura he exuded made Ryan subconsciously regard him as someone who was not easy to mess with, so he behaved very cooperatively.
"Very good, I hope we can have a pleasant cooperation!"
Peter was pleased with his professionalism.
