Chapter 210 Gwen's Careful Thoughts
"Peter?!"
When Aunt May opened the door, she saw Peter and Gwen standing outside, with expressions of surprise on their faces.
After the two separated from Spider Silk and his group, they went straight back to the forest hill.
Zhusi and his companions went to stay in a nearby hotel.
"Where have you been? And Gwen!"
When Aunt Mei realized what was happening, her face was filled with gloom.
She almost went crazy these days because of her nephew's sudden disappearance.
After calling the police, she and Uncle Ben searched everywhere for Peter's whereabouts, and they were just short of putting a missing person notice in the newspaper.
"I'm sorry, Aunt May, there was an accident."
Peter apologized sincerely to Aunt May who was almost out of control.
"Come in first."
Uncle Ben was very calm. He let Peter and Gwen enter the room first.
Perhaps he guessed something, so Uncle Ben did not blame the two of them, but comforted Aunt May instead.
"Where on earth have you been? Why didn't you contact us?"
Aunt Mei's anger subsided a little, but she still asked the two of them in a blaming tone.
Gwen glanced at Peter with a guilty look.
At this point she thought she'd better shut up.
"Gwen said she wanted to get away and relax, so we went to Mexico, and it was a bit chaotic over there, and we lost our phones."
Peter said without blushing or beating his heart.
Gwen next to her was stunned.
Peter was the best liar she had ever seen.
He looked sincere and didn't seem guilty at all.
"Mexico?"
Aunt May was shocked when she heard the word. "You went to Mexico?"
"Yes, just in time for the Day of the Dead celebration."
Peter didn't notice Gwen's expression and continued, "The colorful altars of the Day of the Dead are very distinctive, with bananas, bread of the dead, marigolds, mangoes, red ribbons, and yellow ribbons. But what impressed me most were the unique skull candies: skulls made of hard egg whites, which I heard symbolize death."
Gwen felt a little embarrassed as she listened to Peter.
These seemed to be words he had said himself, and now Peter was speaking them out as if they were his own experience.
“You guys are really…”
Aunt May shook her head, not knowing what to say.
"As your punishment, Peter and Gwen, the two of you will be grounded at home for two days."
But she soon turned her gaze to Gwen, "Gwennie doesn't need to be confined for the time being. You can go back and see her. Your father is also very worried about you. He was very worried during the two days you were missing."
"Okay."
Gwen was stunned for a moment, then nodded in reply.
Second floor, inside the room.
Gwen turned on her cell phone, which was already connected to the signal, and was filled with messages and calls from her father.
Holding the phone, Gwen didn't know what to do.
Do you want to give your father a call?
There was a knock on the door and Gwen went forward to open it for Peter.
"Do you want to go home?"
Peter said directly to Gwen: "If you want to go back, I will go with you."
"I don't know."
Gwen looked at the message on her phone and said, "We always have disagreements. Maybe we will still quarrel when we meet."
“It’s not just about the disagreement over choosing to be a superhero.”
Gwen exhaled and said, "In terms of academics, my father wanted me to just quit the band and focus on college, even though I told my dad that I loved music and that it was the only thing I wanted to do in my life."
"My father told me that everyone in the world has something they pursue, but we have to be clear about what the world really wants and what I give back to it."
Gwen put the phone down and said to Peter, "Now I am sure what I really want, and I have a mission to take responsibility for this world, but my father denies what I insist on, so I am even more confused and I don't know how to face my father."
Peter listened to Gwen quietly.
After a while, he said to Gwen: "No matter what, Sheriff Stacy is concerned about you."
"I know."
Gwen dropped her phone and stood up.
"Okay, I've decided to go home, but you don't have to accompany me, Peter. I can handle it."
"you sure?"
Peter looked at Gwen who was pretending to be strong, "If I were there, maybe I could divert the hatred and make Sheriff Stacy focus on me, the guy who kidnapped her daughter."
Gwen felt much better after hearing Peter's nonsense. She hugged Peter gently. "Thank you, but I'm not as weak as you think."
"Whoosh!"
Gwen shoots out spider silk and jumps out of Peter's window.
At the same time, in the hotel facing the window, Shadow Spider-Man was flipping through the newspaper in his hand.
"2099 calls this universe Earth-65."
Jessica picked up her coffee and said to Silk and Shadow, "It's indeed a little different here."
"Yes, like that blind man Murdoch, he's a villain here."
Zhusi has searched the Internet for recent news.
She was a little surprised that Daredevil was a villain in this universe.
She never imagined that her counterpart, Cindy Moon, was an even more despicable villain in this universe than Matt Murdoch.
"That's not what surprised me the most. What surprised me the most was that the Punisher actually became a policeman here, the kind of policeman who insisted on procedural justice."
Spider Silk said to the two, "They are completely the opposite."
Shadow Spider-Man showed the newspaper in his hand to the two of them, "This is not surprising, fate is not always arranged the same, look at this, there seems to be a strange creature here."
The newspapers contained photos and reports about the aliens.
"This is."
Looking at the photo that she felt was somewhat familiar, Spider Silk frowned, "Why do I have a familiar feeling?"
"It's Spider-Man."
Jessica said to the two: "The armor on the Spider-Man in this universe is very similar to this creature."
"indeed."
Spider Silk nodded, "Maybe there is some connection between the two."
"That's not what we should be concerned about."
Jessica put down her coffee. "It's of no use to us to figure out the abilities of Spider-Man in this universe. What's important is that we must establish a connection with each other."
"How do you say 2099?"
Shadow Spider-Man asked Jessica.
"He said he would come here in person, but I don't think he has the time. He's always so busy."
Jessica's eyes caught a glimpse of a corner of the newspaper.
It said that Sheriff George Stacy was relieved of his position as special team leader due to the impact of the Spider-Woman and Rhino incident.
"It seems like the Spider-Men here have unexpectedly more troubles."
she whispered.
Gwen pushed open the door and cautiously poked her head inside.
As a result, my father was not found in the room.
Putting the keys away, Gwen breathed a sigh of relief and sat down on the sofa.
Parents should still be working overtime.
Picking up the phone, she hesitated for a moment and finally sent a text message to her father.
"Dad, I'm back. Everything is fine. Don't worry."
"Buzz!"
Inside the police station, George's cell phone rang.
He picked up his phone and saw the text message Gwen sent him, and his frown finally relaxed.
"You seem to be in a better mood."
Detective DeWolfe stood before him.
"Yes, it's not bad, at least things are moving in a good direction."
George Stacy shrugged and said.
"But your career is not developing in a better direction."
Detective DeWolfe looked worried. "You've been fired from the Special Crimes Unit. Don't you have anything to say to me?"
"Everything I told you is the truth. I didn't hide anything from the battle with Rhino. Spider-Woman is innocent."
DeWolf crossed his arms over his chest. "So who is she? You really don't know, George?"
George didn't answer directly. He looked the man in the eye and said, "That's my case."
"But George, you have been relieved of your position. What I want to tell you is, George, I work for the police department, and I don't want you to hide anything about Spider-Woman."
George said in a serious tone: "If you want my badge, I will give it to you. If Frank wants it, I can give it to him, but this is my case, and I will handle it my own way."
"This world always needs someone to stand up and do something responsible. Maybe we should give them some tolerance."
Looking at George's unusually serious face, DeWolf was stunned for a moment, then scratched his messy short hair.
"Well, I don't know what you've been through, George, but you made a good speech."
