Chapter 153 The Beginning of the Cohabitation Era
"elopement?!"
Peter was silent.
It seems that what happened tonight was a big blow to Gwen.
"Where do you want to go? Gwen."
"I don't know, China? My Chinese has improved a lot recently. We can live there, or maybe another parallel world?"
Gwen folded her arms across her chest and looked at the sand below her feet.
"If only I had a ticket to the multiverse."
As Peter listened to Gwen talking about tickets to the multiverse, he suddenly thought of the time machine Reed was building.
If Gwen and I really had a time machine, maybe we could do it.
"Do you want to get away from here, Gwen?"
Peter asked Gwen.
"Yes, because I am heavy."
Gwen looked towards the lighthouse not far away and said to Peter, "Although I already had a lot to carry, it's even heavier now."
"My father wanted me to go back to a past that I wasn't sure I could ever recreate because he wasn't happy with the future I was looking for."
Gwen felt the moisture of the raindrops and continued in a depressed mood: "This means that I can't do anything about the current situation. I will only disappoint the people who love me. This is terrible!"
Peter nodded. "So, in this case, you thought you could escape to another faraway world and leave your troubles behind."
"Yes, that's what I think."
Gwen felt that Peter understood her.
"We can go on the run together, like the news a few days ago about an 18-year-old boy who eloped with his 13-year-old girlfriend for two weeks and fled to Florida."
Gwen talked about the news she saw, "Although their escape was not exciting, they committed crimes along the way. They first stole the neighbor's car parked in the garage; later they stole two pickup trucks in succession, including guns; used other people's checks to pay for travel expenses; were suspected of burglary; and destroyed property to avoid police pursuit."
Gwen felt that this was a bit bad, so she added: "We don't have to steal. I have saved money to live on."
Peter thought Gwen's idea was good.
But now is not the time to implement it.
He pointed to the lighthouse not far away and said to Gwen, "It's a good idea, but do you want to go to the lighthouse to see the sea now? This may make you feel better."
"lighthouse?"
Gwen wanted to say that the lighthouse was under repair?
When she looked up, she suddenly found that there was a light in the lighthouse in the distance.
Gwen was stunned, then nodded, "Of course."
She glanced at her bare feet and was about to speak when she discovered that Peter already had her shoes in his hand.
This is not bad, at least there is someone I love who will never be disappointed in me.
Gwen thought to herself.
The next day, early in the morning.
Gwen woke up with a gasp. She dreamed that she was trapped in seaweed and couldn't get out.
She wanted to tear away the seaweed that was wrapped around her neck, arms, and chest.
But these things kept haunting her.
It was just like the feeling of suffocation I dreamt about last time, after the Frank incident.
When she woke up, she found Peter sitting in front of the bed looking at her.
Memories of yesterday flooded into my mind.
Last night she had spent the most memorable evening at the lighthouse with Peter, watching the bioluminescent creatures of the ocean gather on the seashore.
"You had a nightmare? Gwen."
Peter used his mind watch to project glowing marine life last night, which put Gwen in a much better mood.
But looking at her frowning expression in her sleep, she must have had a nightmare.
"It's not a bad dream."
Gwen looked around Peter's room and asked, "Where did you sleep last night?"
I was in Peter's bed, so where did Peter sleep?
"I'm downstairs on the couch."
Peter said to her casually.
In fact, since the embryonic alien parasitized his body, not sleeping for a long time would not affect his body.
"Was I not well-behaved when I slept?" Gwen asked in a low voice.
"No."
"Did we do anything last night?"
"should not."
Gwen looked at her complete outfit, not knowing whether to be disappointed or relieved.
"I'm sorry, Peter."
"sorry?"
Peter had no idea why she was apologizing.
"I was willful and forced to move into your house. We even climbed in through the window last night."
She felt that her behavior last night was a little out of line.
Peter sat down in a chair next to the bed. "It's not necessarily your fault."
Gwen rubbed her forehead, "Aunt May and Uncle Ben will be mad if they find out."
"Wait, there is one thing, Gwen. Although you did not act dishonestly in your sleep last night, you did talk in your sleep."
Peter interrupted her.
Gwen was stunned and looked at Peter in panic.
"what?"
Peter pulled his phone out of his pocket. "I'm sorry, it's not nice to do this, but hearing is something you can't control."
Originally he wanted to let Gwen listen to her own sleep talking.
But realizing that this might cause Gwen to go berserk, he stopped this dangerous behavior.
Gwen took a deep breath and felt a pain in her chest, which almost made her cough.
It seems that the injuries from the battle with the rhino monster last night have not yet fully healed.
"So what did I say? Was there anything important?"
"Probably not. You spent the first half of the time playing your drums and arguing with Betty, Gloria, and Black Cat. In the second half..."
"What happened to the second half?"
Peter shook his head. “I didn’t hear that.”
"Peter, do you think I believe that?"
"I think you do."
"I don't think I would believe it. Your blinking just now was a sign of lying."
Just as Gwen was about to ask Peter what she had said, Aunt May's voice suddenly came from downstairs.
Gwen, feeling guilty, suddenly panicked.
"No, I have to get out of here."
Gwen was thinking about transforming into Spider-Woman and escaping through the window of Peter's room.
Peter stopped him and asked, "Aren't you planning to live here?"
"Although it is true, I don't think it can be done in this way."
Gwen felt that this would make her look like a little bitch.
"I think it's pretty good."
Peter took her hand and got off the bed.
Downstairs, Uncle Ben was pulling a bottle of Johnnie Walker Red Label whisky from a paper bag.
"What is this? Ben?"
Uncle Ben explained to Aunt May, "I helped a friend before, and he gave me a bottle of good wine to express his gratitude."
"There's no need to give me such good wine."
Uncle Ben looked at the whiskey in his hand and said to Aunt May, "He started a magazine called "The Youth Resistance Base". It now has about a hundred readers and is about to start publishing it online."
"About what?"
"All the issues concerning teenagers, such as early love, cohabitation or early pregnancy, are discussed in it."
As Uncle Ben was speaking, he saw Peter and Gwen coming down from upstairs and was immediately stunned!
