Chapter 144: Will Spider-Man team up to make their debut?
"Forget it."
Gwen whispered, and she shivered at the sound of her own voice.
She decided to go into the kitchen and make breakfast, as she always did, a single girl's breakfast, high in cholesterol, two sandwiches with fried eggs and a slice of onion in each.
She smelled faintly, perhaps the smell of sweat sticking to her clothes.
But she would take a shower later.
Looking out, Gwen saw the little blue car parked in the driveway, all covered in dew, which meant it had been there for some time.
She walked into the kitchen, took out a frying pan, put it on the stove, and got a few eggs from the refrigerator. The kitchen was well lit, the air was fresh, and it felt very comfortable.
"You're very positive today, Gwen."
George came down from upstairs and was surprised to see his daughter cooking.
"I have always been good at cooking, Dad, but I don't think I should waste my time on cooking. I always feel that I have more important things to do."
"for example?"
George asked her, raising an eyebrow.
"For example, maintaining world peace, well, that's too far away, or the safety of the city."
Gwen put down the cooking utensils and said to her father, "If it's still far away, then it's something that comes with a bit of responsibility."
"Whether it's protecting the city's safety or carrying a certain amount of responsibility, this is what the police should do anyway."
George made himself a cup of coffee and looked out at the blue car.
Two people got into this strange car.
Gwen also noticed what was happening outside and her brows furrowed.
But she still pretended to be calm and asked her father, "Dad, what progress has your criminal team made in investigating Spider-Man and Spider-Woman? Are they still far from being caught?"
"I don't know. Right now the police department is focusing its attention on Hell's Kitchen, which is not peaceful."
Gwen thought for a moment and then said, "I remember that guy's name was Kingpin, right?"
"Yes, there was a recent homicide involving the other party."
George took a sip of the bitter coffee and perked up a little. He said to Gwen, "After Matt Murdoch was thrown into prison by me, he has been wanting revenge."
Gwen asked her father, "Is he a mutant?"
"No, he's just an ordinary person, but you can't treat him as an ordinary person. Kingpin has special armor to protect himself. He's not a mutant and doesn't have a body of steel, but that doesn't mean he will let himself become fragile. Under his daily suit, he always wears a Kevlar armor. Ordinary attacks and bullets can't hurt him."
George briefly told his daughter how difficult this gangster was.
"He is the biggest cancer in Hell's Kitchen!"
Gwen listened to her father quietly without saying anything.
But she had already memorized this guy's name in her heart.
Since he wants to hurt my father, I will find out what crime this guy committed and put him in jail.
Even if he was wearing invulnerable armor, he could definitely take care of him.
She looked seriously at the little blue car outside.
"This weekend is the date of your first public performance, right?"
George suddenly asked Gwen about the band's performance.
Gwen was stunned for a moment, then nodded and said, "Yes, Miss Hardy invited our band, and I was busy rehearsing before."
"I'll take the time to see you. You've always been my proud daughter, Gwen."
George stroked Gwen's hair with relief, "I hope I can see your wonderful performance this time."
"Thanks, Dad."
Gwen's bad mood caused by the nightmare was relieved a lot.
"You might become an excellent musician in the future."
George talked about his daughter's possible future career.
"Well, that's hard to say. In fact, I found that I didn't have much idea about becoming a musician."
Gwen put the fried eggs she had prepared on a plate and brought it to her father.
“Enjoy breakfast!”
"Oh!"
Gwen shot out spider silk, which swept across the tall buildings in the city.
The wind whistling through the city passed by her ears.
Gwen, transformed into Spider-Woman, landed on a street lamp post by the roadside and looked at the blue car speeding on the road. The driver in the car seemed to be unaware that Spider-Woman had caught up with him.
Still following George Stacy's vehicle slowly at his own pace.
Neither of them seemed to worry at all about being discovered.
After Gwen determined her target, she shot out a spider silk with a "whoosh" and swung herself away from the lamppost.
The light body is like a springing white spider, pouncing on its prey accurately.
Following a dull sound, a sound came from the roof of the blue car, startling the two people in the car.
"what sound?"
The white man who was driving the car immediately looked up.
He thought something heavy had fallen on top of the car.
Before he could think about what it was, Gwen's figure appeared outside the car door on his left.
Gwen, who was clinging to the car, waved and greeted him, "Hey, good morning!"
"Walter fucking f**k!"
The startled driver swore and immediately stepped on the brakes.
At the same time, the guy sitting in the passenger seat reacted and quickly took out the pistol from his waist.
Gwen naturally wouldn't give him this opportunity.
The spider silk wrapped around the man's hand as he was about to draw his gun, and then the moment the car stopped, it pulled the guy in the driver's seat out and punched him in the face without any mercy.
"Whose people are you?"
Gwen first asked the other party to behave himself, and then questioned their identities.
After confirming that these two guys were sent by Kingpin to monitor her father, Gwen's heart was instantly ignited with anger.
at the same time.
Peter is experimenting with Reed's "thought projector" at home.
In his room, the Wendigo ghost he had seen the night before occupied most of the room, blinking and breathing heavily as he looked at him.
As his mind changed, the Wendigo ghost instantly transformed into a spaceship.
His room also changed from an ordinary study to the interior of a spaceship with a sci-fi style.
Outside the deep room, there was no longer bright sunshine, but instead a pitch-black, deserted space.
This kind of projection technology has even surpassed Mysterio, right?!
Peter felt the atmosphere in front of him and thought secretly in his heart.
I now have the potential to become a mysterious man.
"Peter?"
Aunt May's voice came from downstairs.
Peter's mind changed and the image of the spaceship disappeared in an instant.
After going downstairs, Aunt May put breakfast on the table.
"I have a funeral to attend today."
Uncle Ben said to Peter, "You might know him, your Uncle Steve."
"I don't remember. I only know one named Steve, Captain America."
Peter said to Uncle Ben.
"Well, maybe you forgot. Although I don't believe this, I have a certain feeling. From the first funeral I attended, it seemed to set the tone for this year. It's not a good year at all."
Uncle Ben said to the two men, "Both of Steve's relatives in his hometown were imprisoned for political reasons. I was deeply impressed by the tears that flowed from the eyes of this kind Indian man."
The guy Uncle Ben is talking about seems to be Indian.
"His mother had an atrial resection. This strong man was not optimistic about the control of his mother's condition. He said that his mother might not be able to make it to the celebration of the five-year club. Unexpectedly, he would be the first to collapse."
Aunt May brought the pancakes over and said to Uncle Ben, "I've been to four funerals since Pascoe died. My sister's husband's funeral, who died in a car accident; a cousin's funeral, who was electrocuted when he made a bet that he could climb to the top of a telephone pole; my neighbor Claire's funeral; and of course the funeral of my neighbor's little son who was in a car accident."
Peter laments Aunt May's luck this year.
He turned on the TV and found that it was reporting the news about Gwen.
Peter's brow furrowed as he watched Gwen chase a car on TV.
Is this what happened?
He stood up and looked outside. The bright sunlight outside the window seemed to become a little dazzling.
