Chapter 13: Gwen Goes Rage

Chapter 13: Gwen Goes Rage

"Mr. Morton, Peter is not the type to hurt anyone, I assure you."

Uncle Ben took off his hat and spoke to Vice Principal Morton with a serious expression.

"We'll figure it out, don't worry, Mr. Parker."

Morton smiled at Uncle Ben, "I remember who Peter is. He is Richard's son. It must be him."

He didn't know Peter before, but now he knows Peter's identity after seeing Uncle Ben.

Giving Uncle Ben an apologetic smile, Vice Principal Morton said, "There are too many students in the school. After four or five years, they all become someone else. You will call a boy by his brother's name, and so on. There is nothing we can do about it."

Then he looked at Peter again and said with emotion: "You see a child who looks familiar, and then you find out that his father was one of your first students. This feeling is indeed somewhat strange. Richard used to be my student. I was impressed by him. He once made a rocket chair in class to send his classmates to the moon."

"Ahem, this has gone a bit off topic. Let's get back to the point. The police have come in advance. They want Peter to go there for questioning. He has to go to the police station alone. I think a child like him may need the company of his family."

Morton explained to Uncle Ben why he had called the two of them to school.

"Thank you, Mr. Morton."

Uncle Ben shook Vice Principal Morton's hand tightly to express his gratitude.

Aunt Mei thought that the vice principal would be difficult to talk to, so when she heard him say that, she came up to thank him.

"Peter, what happened?"

After Aunt May finished talking to Vice Principal Morton, she came up and asked him worriedly.

"Josh Robb was found dead in the storage room. I had a conflict with him before."

Peter briefly explained to Aunt May.

"Oh my God, what a misfortune this is!"

Aunt May said sadly, "We all don't want to see this happen."

"Knock! Knock! Knock!"

Aunt Mei wanted to say something when there was a knock on the door.

Vice Principal Morton opened the door and saw a policeman standing outside.

Gwen was also standing nearby, looking anxiously into the door.

"Vice President Morton, I'm George Stacy, the Commissioner of the New York Police Department."

George introduced himself to Morton.

Gwen saw Peter and walked quickly towards him without paying attention to her father.

"Peter, are you okay?"

"I am fine."

"I called my father and asked him to come over. You will be fine."

Gwen seemed to be more anxious than Peter, and spoke with a slightly panting tone.

Peter stared at the beads of sweat on the tip of Gwen's nose, and his calm expression changed slightly.

"Don't worry, Gwen. This has nothing to do with me. It will be fine once the police clarify it."

He explained to Gwindor.

"I believe you."

Gwen said to Peter in a firm tone.

the other side.

Vice Principal Morton was talking to George.

He explained to the police chief the conflict between Peter and Josh the day before he disappeared.

“Not a conflict!”

When Gwen heard what Morton said, she suddenly couldn't bear it anymore. She walked up angrily and stood in front of him.

"They are the ones who have been bullying Peter," Gwen said angrily. "They hid Peter's coat, hid the snake in his shoes, and pushed him into the water again."

"The time Peter fell asleep in class, Billy smeared peanut butter on his head; stuck his legs out in the hallway and tripped him; knocked books off his desk; stuffed postcards in his bag; and once even carved the word 'nerd' on his desk."

"All of this was just bullying, teasing and malicious behavior towards Peter, just because Peter was a good person who was not good at socializing, and just because Peter didn't care about them."

Gwen's anger finally reached its critical point and burst out.

"And you teachers all pretend to turn a blind eye, or like Miss Dell, you think all students are good kids."

Gwen became more and more excited. "Now that Josh is dead, you are suspecting the person who was bullied by him countless times, just because he resisted once in the end. All of this is unreasonable! It's not fair!"

Gwen's sudden outburst shocked everyone in the room.

George Stacy looked at his daughter in astonishment, then glanced at Peter beside him and vaguely understood something.

Uncle Ben and Aunt May looked at Vice Principal Morton in disbelief. They could never have imagined that their nephew had been bullied like this at school.

Peter was stunned at first, then he became slightly moved.

Although these experiences were experienced by the original owner, there was still a warm current flowing through his heart.

The girl suddenly caused a change in his heart.

After hearing what Gwen said, Vice Principal Morton's cute John Wayne expression suddenly disappeared, and he stood there with his face flushed red.

The whole room was completely silent without a single sound being heard.

"Mr. Parker, Mrs. Parker, you can take Peter back now."

After a while, George Stacy's voice broke the silence in the room.

"The police officers have already briefly questioned Peter. I think that's enough."

He took the initiative to step forward to rescue his daughter.

Although according to the procedure, Peter should be taken to the police station for questioning, he can exercise the power of the police chief to skip this matter first.

"No problem, Mr. Morton?"

"No problem."

Vice Principal Morton nodded subconsciously.

on the way back.

George, who was driving the car, glanced at Gwen who was sitting in the passenger seat.

Gwen propped her chin on one hand and tilted her head to look at the scenery passing by outside the window.

"You shouldn't have said that today, Gwen."

George said to his daughter, "You're not usually this impulsive."

"I know."

Gwen's tone was downcast, "I just don't think something like this will happen."

She turned and looked at her father.

“Dad, why did you become a police officer?”

"I"

"Because you want to help everyone, you want every community in this city to be safe, stable, and free from criminals, and that's what you always tell me."

Gwen turned her head and looked out the windshield at the sky ahead.

"Dad, you fight for justice. You uphold justice so that everyone is treated equally. But why don't I see justice in school?"

"Gwen, we can't change everything"

"No, it's because your justice cannot truly take care of those in need."

Gwen's words were filled with a firmness that even George could sense. "Even if I can't do anything, at least I will be angry about these phenomena! I can't pretend that I didn't see anything!"
