Chapter 11 Parker on the roof, some like
Parker's house.
He sat at the desk, looking through the CT images in his hands with a serious expression.
After a while, he put down the CT in his hand and turned his eyes to the desk in front of him.
There was a transparent glass bottle on the desk, with a creature wriggling inside.
Peter reached out and brought the glass bottle to his eyes, carefully examining the creature inside.
An insect covered with a peacock green shell was crawling slowly inside.
The insect in front of him is called a "jewel wasp" and he found it in his backyard.
The harmless-looking jewel wasp with a metallic sheen is said to be the prototype of the Alien.
Although the name sounds nice, the insect in front of you is not a harmless insect, but a ferocious creature like an alien.
Peter opened the glass bottle and threw a cockroach into it.
"Whoosh!"
The jewel wasp spotted its prey, raised its stinger and stabbed it into the cockroach's body.
The paralyzed cockroach immediately became motionless.
The jewel wasp then moved its stinger again and stabbed it straight into the cockroach's brain.
This attack was like an alien's horrible mouthparts stabbing directly into the person's mouth.
It is said that once the female wasp is able to control the cockroach, she will use her antennae to guide her prey.
The cockroach will follow the female wasp back to the nest and sit down obediently.
The female wasp then lays an egg in the cockroach's abdomen, and the cockroach stays in the nest, patiently waiting for the larvae to hatch.
Putting down the glass bottle, Peter looked out the window at the dark night.
Am I a cockroach or a wasp in the glass bottle?
"Om~!"
Just as he was lost in thought, his cell phone suddenly rang.
The caller ID showed that the caller was Gwen Stacy.
After hesitating for a moment, he picked up the phone.
"Hey Peter, good evening."
"Good evening, Gwen."
Gwen's voice was filled with worry, "You didn't come to school today, are you okay?"
"Well, it's okay. I felt a little uncomfortable today, so I took a day off."
Peter made up an excuse to explain why he didn't go to school today.
"Well, I wanted to visit you today, but was delayed by something at school. Maybe you could tell me in advance so that I can ask Miss Fish to write you a note of leave, so that you won't be criticized by her tomorrow."
Gwen spoke a series of words in one breath, and it seemed that she was very enthusiastic about Peter's affairs.
"Thanks, Gwen, maybe I'll ask you for help next time."
Peter thanked the kind-hearted girl.
"No, I should thank you! If it weren't for you, maybe I would have fallen off the roof. Maybe... maybe in some parallel world, that's how I fell."
Gwen said to Peter with a creative mind, "After all, I often act crazy, which is not a good habit."
"Anyway, I'm glad to know that you're okay. Go to bed early. Good night."
"Good night."
"Oh!"
After hanging up the phone, Gwen threw the phone on the bed.
Then he leaned back and fell onto the bed.
Ever since the rooftop incident, she had mixed feelings about Peter.
In her impression, Peter is the one who is often played tricks on by others with a "left-handed wrench".
(Left-handed wrench: There is no left-handed wrench. Pranksters often use it to trick people by asking them to hold a "left-handed wrench.")
But ever since they met on the rooftop that night, she felt that Peter was different.
It can’t be said to be good or bad, but she admitted that she seemed to like the Peter on the roof more than the previous Peter who lacked confidence.
"Well, I always have wild thoughts. Maybe Dad is right. I yearn to rebel in my heart."
After muttering something, Gwen took out her cell phone and turned on the music player. As a member of the school's "Mary Janes" band, she was extremely obsessed with rock music.
"Your life is like a phantom, like a forgotten soul~"
"Here you and I are, but you've been gone for so many years. How I wish you could stay~"
"The walking dead, just like the walking dead~"
Listening to her favorite rock band, Gwen's thoughts became confused.
"The Walking Dead. My recent state is really a bit like that. I have been thinking about all sorts of things all the time, like a phantom."
She muttered to herself as she listened to the lyrics.
The next day, early in the morning.
Peter had just entered the school when he ran into Gwen.
"Hi Peter, good morning!"
Gwen is in a good mood and greets Peter.
Gwen, with blonde hair and delicate features, wore an open-chested baseball shirt and looked very youthful and beautiful.
"Miss Gwen, next time you wear your school uniform, pay attention to your clothes!"
Before Peter could say anything, a bald white man standing not far from the two of them pointed at Gwen's clothes and warned her about her dress.
"I will, thank you Mr. Morton for the reminder."
Gwen turned around and smiled back.
Mr. Morton is the assistant principal of Midtown High School, and his main job is to maintain school discipline.
Gwen breathed a sigh of relief, then turned to Peter and complained, "Mr. Morton always tries to create a lovable John Wayne image when teaching his students, but it doesn't seem to be very successful."
"John Wayne?"
Peter found that he could hardly keep up with the other person's train of thought.
"Don't you know John Wayne, Peter? The first cowboy in Hollywood, one of the most classic icons of American culture."
At this moment, Gwen finally felt that the Peter in front of her was somewhat like the silly Peter before.
"I know of a toilet paper called John Wayne, which is advertised as 'It's rough, it's tough, but it won't give anybody any trouble.'"
Peter thought about it and said this to Gwen.
When Gwen heard Peter say there was a kind of toilet paper called John Wayne, she was stunned at first.
Then she fell into a state of overwhelming joy and laughed loudly in a very unladylike manner.
"Haha, you really have a dry sense of humor that's funny and cute, Peter."
Gwen said breathlessly, holding her waist.
Peter was speechless when Gwen described him as "humorous, funny and cute".
This is the first time someone has evaluated me like this.
Does this kind of word have anything to do with me?
“Thank you for your comment, but I don’t think anyone would think so.”
Peter ignored the curious looks from the students passing by and said to Gwen, who had lost her composure, "Maybe you should control your facial expressions."
"Feel sorry."
Gwen quickly adjusted her mood and apologized to Peter, "It was just too funny, so..."
Peter was puzzled by the mysterious smile of the girl in front of him. He shook his head and walked towards the teaching building.
"Any follow-up results for those criminals who tried to kidnap you?"
Peter asked casually to Gwen who had caught up with him.
"I don't know. Dad said they were from the Hand, but it seems like they've been in some trouble lately."
Gwen turned serious, "Because of my father's previous actions against them, they want to retaliate against me."
"If I became a superhero, these guys would be the first ones I would deal with!"
Gwen said through gritted teeth somewhat fiercely.
