The second is whether the consistency of this top-bottom combined line scan array can reach an acceptable level after back-end compensation.

It was even possible that the upper half was black and white and the lower half was color. But if you think about it carefully, it seems that it can be used in tank fire control. But the line scan thermal imager also has a supporting device, which is made by the Institute of Directed Research, and that is the line array scanning system.

As a line scan that needs to output images continuously, it is impossible to control the line scan sensor to move back and forth, scanning from one end to the other.

This method either requires waiting for the scanning head to return to its original position before scanning the second frame, or requires processing and fusing the scanning data in two directions at the same time, both of which are unacceptable.

The most important thing is that line scan sensors are very expensive, and they also come with a lot of accessories such as refrigeration, parallel output lines, etc. If you drag this thing back and forth, then you can basically lose hope in the size, weight, reliability and usability of this thermal imager.

So actually, in the line scan thermal imager, what moves is the reflector in the optical system, which is much more convenient to move.

The line scan thermal imager that Gao Zhendong proposed from the system uses a rotating hexagonal prism reflection optical scanning system. It has a simple and lightweight structure and is relatively easy to manufacture and maintain. In mechanics, rotation is often easier to handle than reciprocating motion.

The supporting information for the thermal imager proposed in the system came with ready-made drawings, so Gao Zhendong did not go to look for units like the Northeast Institute of Optics. It was pointless to use an anti-aircraft gun to kill a mosquito.

On the contrary, the infrared air-to-air missile developed by the Institute of Missile Research has similar experience. The scanning of the orthogonal four-element detector is light cone scanning, which is also the reflection scanning of the rotating parts, but it is circular scanning instead of line scanning.

With this experience, it should be no problem to build an optical scanning system based on the existing drawings.
