Chapter 183: Glory to Shurima

Chapter 183: Glory to Shurima

Time goes back a thousand years, to the time when Azir was pushed off the altar by Xerath.

His body was consumed by the sun's fire, but Azir did not die completely.

He did not see anything that happened afterwards, the destroyed city, the great battle between the ascenders. To him, everything was nothing.

Azir's last memory was of intense pain and fire; he had no idea what had happened on top of the temple, or what had happened to his empire. He was lost in oblivion, with no sense of time, and a thousand years seemed like just a moment to him.

Until the blood seeped through the sand.

The blood of the descendants was spilled on the ruins, and Azir was reborn!
Azir was reborn, but he was not yet whole; his body was little more than moving, tangible dust, held together by the last of his indomitable will.

Dust was floating on the ruins of Shurima. This was Azir staggering and limping in the ruins. The audience was moved to tears when watching this scene.

It was as if the emperor was mourning the ancient empire alone.

Azir was wandering among the ruins like a ghost from the past, until he came across the body of a girl.

The life force had drained from Sivir's body, leaving only the vicious knife wound on her back.

"Fuck! Is Sivir really dead?!"

"With such a big wound, no one came to save him. He must have died from bleeding alone, right?"

"But didn't she meet Talia later?"

"Oh my god! This is a bit scary. Could it be that Sivir was actually dead at that time?"

"That's definitely not the case! This isn't a horror movie!"

The audience didn't expect that Sivir would actually die! Everyone thought she would be the protagonist of this plot.

But when Azir discovered Sivir's body, everyone in front of the screen could guess what would happen!

There is magical power in this desert, even the Emperor of Shurima from thousands of years ago can be resurrected!

What about Sivir?

……

In the picture, when Azir's sand body found Sivir, he lifted her up with the sand.

He didn't know her, but he saw that her appearance had the characteristics of his own bloodline. With only a trace of indomitable will left, Azir only knew that as an emperor, he had to save this Shurima.

All thoughts of empire and power were cast behind him, and he used the last of his soul to lift the daughter of Shurima and carry her to the site of the former Oasis of Dawn.

The oasis had long since dried up, but with every step Azir took closer, clear fresh water gushed out, filling the rocky basin.

"The world is a desert and I am an oasis!"

Azir soaked the girl's body in the oasis' healing waters, and the blood disappeared, leaving only a shallow scar from the fatal knife wound.

Sivir is resurrected! However, Azir's sand body is about to dissipate after its power is exhausted, just like Renekton once risked his life to send Nasus into the Sun Altar!
Azir's selfless act continued the ascension ceremony that took place thousands of years ago.

Azir was lifted into the air by pillars of fire, and Shurima's magic brought him back to life, reshaping his body into the form of an Ascended being.

The sun's immortal light poured into his body, shaping his majestic eagle armor and granting him the ability to control the sand.

This is exactly the spectacular scene that the audience saw in the promotional video!
Azir raised his hands, and his ruined city shook off the dust that had covered it for hundreds of years and rose from the ground again.

The sun disk floated in the sky again. Healing water flowed between the temples, and under the emperor's command, each temple rose from the ground to welcome the sun.

"Shurima, your emperor is back!"

Along with this magnificent scene, Azir climbed up the newly rising Temple of the Sun. The wind blew up the western sands, recreating the last moment of the city before his eyes!
The sand and dust formed ghostly phantoms, recreating the city's dying scene. Azir was surprised to see Xerath's conspiracy and betrayal unfold gradually. It was only then that he observed the ugly face of his most trusted brother!
It turns out that all this happened so early, and it was all hidden in Zerath's heart!

The scene of the destruction of the Shurima capital replayed itself before Azir's eyes. He watched sadly as his family suffered misfortune, his empire fell, and his powers were stolen.

And Azir finally discovered that his former friends and confidants had a deep hatred for him.

And he could sense that Xerath was still alive in the world, waiting for him somewhere. Even though he just learned about what happened later, Azir knew that he and Xerath had become sworn enemies!
Xerath destroyed the Shurima Empire, and Azir wants to summon this ancient country back from history!

"My empire exists in every grain of sand!"

"Those who follow me are also following fate."

They were destined to fight each other, and Azir used ancient magic to summon an army of sand soldiers to march alongside their reborn emperor.

The golden disk above his head shone with the light of the sun, and Azir solemnly swore an oath.

I will take back my land and everything I own!
……

And when Sivir woke up, she naturally witnessed all of this.

She didn't know she was resurrected, but thought that the ancient Shurima emperor had miraculously healed her fatal injuries with healing water.

Everything that happened on this expedition shocked her. She had heard of Azir and the prophecy of his return, but had always thought that only a fool would believe such a fantasy...but she could not deny the scene before her.

Sivir witnessed Azir becoming the Ascended One with her own eyes. The earth cracked, sandstorms blew, and the ancient city of Shurima rose from its grave. A huge golden disc shone with the sacred sunlight, crowning the capital.

However, she wanted nothing to do with Azir, and while witnessing all this, Sivir fled with Charikar.

She only wanted to be a mercenary, not a descendant of the Shurima royal family. After a thousand years, she had no feelings for the ancient Shurima Empire and did not want to let her fate be dragged down by it.

Though all she wants is to return to her former life, she finds herself caught up in a power struggle that most mortals cannot understand.

In the city of Vekaura, she met another Ascendant - the liberated witch spirit Xerath was trying to completely cut off Azir's bloodline. But with the help of Grand Maester Nasus and a young rock weaver, Sivir survived again.

Now, the time has come, and she must choose a path, either accepting the fate she has been given or forging her own destiny among the shifting sands of Shurima.
