Chapter 48 Remarks on the launch
Excited heart, trembling hands, it will be on the shelves tomorrow at noon.
First order, first order, first order! Important things should be said three times!
The data of first order (i.e. subscription to the first paid chapter) is very important. I hope everyone can give more support. If you want to support the book, please give a first order and then support it. Please!
There will be four updates tomorrow, two at noon and two at night.
Then I would like to share with you my thoughts on writing this book.
The concept of this book is style + entertainment as can be seen from the title.
The starting point was "Go Where There Is Wind", and the reason for adding entertainment was because "There Is Wind" was too niche and they were afraid it wouldn't survive.
It is understandable given the fact that there are only a few completed long novels with the theme of "Youfeng" up to now.
As for why I moved the story line forward, the main reason was to deal with the unavoidable issue of "Xie Zhiyao".
I have also read what other people have written. I have basically read all the ones that write "There is Wind" on Qidian.
Most of them start from the original plot, in fact, start writing from here. The emotional line between the protagonist and Xu Hongdou has, to a certain extent, cut off the character of Xie Zhiyao, and put a part of Xie Zhiyao on the protagonist.
Some even have to use the method of "degrading" Xie Zhiyao in order to highlight and shape the protagonist.
This is a relatively common way of writing.
But I remember there was a more clever one, which made Xie Zhiyao a female, thus effectively avoiding the relationship between Xie Zhiyao and Xu Hongdou.
From a writing perspective, I find it quite interesting, just like in "Two Thousand Years of Poor Ghost", where the male protagonist travels through time and space into the body of a woman, which avoids the problem that the protagonist would encounter if he were to live forever: love between men and women.
Because the protagonist has a male soul, she cannot have feelings for men. And because she has a female body, she cannot have sex with women, so she can only live alone forever.
Of course, from the reader's perspective, many people may find it difficult to accept that Xie Zhiyao is set as a female.
My choice is to move the timeline forward, create a first-come-first-served time difference, occupy the position in Xu Hongdou's heart first, and then the door of her heart will be closed.
In addition, another advantage of advancing the timeline is that it can extend the length of the article.
Because there is so little to write about the story of Yunmiao Village, I would have to write at most 300,000 words just to write about Yunmiao Village. It is possible that the story would be finished before the book is even put on the shelves.
It becomes very difficult to write further after that, because you start directly from Yunmiao Village, and readers will inevitably read the book with a lot of personal impressions of the original work.
Everyone has different feelings after reading the original work, and has different expectations for the subsequent development of the story, so it is difficult to create content that satisfies most people.
I think this is also one of the reasons why “There is Wind” cannot be written for long.
Pulling the story line forward is equivalent to bringing readers into the world I have created in advance. I think this may lead to a better sense of identification and involvement, and a higher degree of acceptance of the subsequent plot.
Of course, the above is just my personal idea. The specific details will depend on the performance of the book and readers' reading feedback.
Let’s talk about the type of book.
In fact, there are good and bad fan creations.
The good thing is that it may be more attractive to fans of the original novel in the early stages, and everyone will be more fond of and tolerant of the characters in the original drama.
The bad thing is that people are rather resistant to, or indifferent to, original plots or characters, so some of the author's writing ideas are inevitably somewhat constrained.
Some people suggested writing more about daily life, while others commented that there hasn’t been much entertainment career recently.
The first twenty chapters talk about pseudo "Youfeng", and the last twenty chapters talk about pseudo "entertainment". This should be the difference between fans of the original novel and non-fans of the original novel.
In fact, from the title to the introduction and labels of the book, I think it should be written very clearly, that is, "Stylish", "Entertainment" and "Daily".
So there is no false pretense, everything that should be there is there, but the plot will have different emphases at certain stages.
I don’t write books just for one person or one type of people, so I have to start from the completeness of the story of the book and write the story I want to write.
If a book is a dish, it must be a combination of meat and vegetables to entertain all book lovers.
It is impossible for me to pick out all the vegetarian food just because you like to eat meat. What about my friends who like to eat vegetarian food?
Let’s talk about the character setting of the book.
The main plot of this book is the relationship between Chen Mo and Xu Hongdou.
As the heroine, Xu Hongdou's career has nothing to do with the entertainment industry. So if Chen Mo takes the mainstream entertainment industry development path, the two of them will be very inconsistent in the later period, and Xu Hongdou may even become an unnecessary foil.
This deviates from my original intention of writing this story.
Therefore, from the background setting I gave to Chen Mo, it can be seen that Chen Mo will not follow the mainstream entertainment industry development path: struggle + rise.
In fact, if I really follow this path, it might be much easier for me to write. Most of the popular entertainment content now is of this type, and I have too many model essays to refer to.
Moreover, I am familiar with the plot routines, which are nothing more than participating in various variety shows, releasing songs, hitting charts, and winning awards. If that is not enough, then develop into an actor or director.
If it were written this way, the book might perform much better than it is now.
But if I really write like this, why should I write about Xu Hongdou? Wouldn’t it be better if I just write about myself?
This way, the subject matter and audience are relatively large, and the career development paths of the two people are also compatible.
When I was reading the comments, I also wondered if I was being too willful. I didn't want to take the broad road that everyone had blazed, but instead took the narrow path that followed my own preferences.
But thinking back, I didn't write along the lines of "Rise in the Entertainment Circle" at the beginning. In addition to the original intention of writing this story, it is also possible that I didn't have the desire to create in this area. Firstly, there are too many good works in this area, and the entertainment category is basically full of them from top to bottom.
I don’t have the confidence that I can write better than them, and I don’t feel like I have any good ideas or can write something new. The framework of entertainment writing is already very mature.
Secondly, I have become somewhat tired of this development trend recently.
I personally like to read a lot of books in the same genre over a period of time.
For example, if I have been reading a lot of novels with female protagonists recently, then I might not read a book with only a female protagonist; or if I have been reading a lot of historical novels recently, then I might not read a modern urban novel.
It is natural to get tired of this after a period of time, so maybe after a while I will do the opposite and only read books with a single female protagonist, and I will skip books with multiple female protagonists.
Before writing this book, I happened to have read almost all the well-written entertainment novels currently on the market, and I also read quite a few of the completed ones. I have been reading for quite a long time.
Of course I haven't watched all of them.
But now I still have two or three books I’m following. Sometimes I’ll see them in other books, and book friends who have read my book will comment on other books. I feel inexplicably familiar with them, haha.
So I didn’t plan to write in the direction of mainstream character development.
Instead, part of the entertainment line was placed on Jiang Congwen, which is why Jiang Congwen had more roles in the early stages.
I didn't intend to write a story where the protagonist is the only awesome one and everyone else is just NPCs, just to highlight the protagonist's existence.
I still hope that each character can have its own characteristics and be as full as possible.
So even if I might overshadow the main character at some stage, I don’t think it matters.
Because the relationship between Chen Mo and Xu Hongdou must run through the entire text, and other characters only appear more frequently at a certain stage, there will be no such problem when looking at the book as a whole.
It may also be that from my perspective as a creator, I treat every character equally, but from the perspective of a reader, I want to put myself in the shoes of the protagonist.
But if you want to read a fast-paced show-off and face-slapping novel, then this book is obviously not suitable.
I think this is the meaning of having free words at the beginning of a novel, which is to allow everyone to try it out.
This way everyone can judge whether the book suits their taste and then decide whether to pay to read it.
So I think reading a book is very simple. If you like it, read it. If you don’t like it, change it.
Don't force yourself, and don't make things difficult for others.
You don’t spend any money on the free words, and I don’t make any money either.
There is no need to teach me how to write the protagonist or the supporting role.
It’s not that I can’t, but I don’t want to write like this. (Pretending to be tough)
This book is more everyday, a bit sweet, and not too much of a "pretentious and then slapped in the face" plot or excitement.
Let me make it clear first so that you don't waste money.
If you don't like a book, there are so many books on Qidian. Just change one that you like and don't bother with me about why I didn't write it this way.
I also know that the book is on the shelves. Some readers may change the platform to read the book. This is everyone's freedom.
But I still hope you can give me a first order before leaving, please.
There is also the issue of updates.
I am a clumsy typer and type very slowly, so I dare not brag. I hope that after the book is put on the shelves, I can evolve into a twice-updated beast.
I also have several books I’m following, reading them every day, and urging others to update, haha [manual dog head]
Regarding the performance of this book, on the new book rankings
The ranking of new books in the entire site is around 50.
There are about 20 new urban books.
The category of newcomers in the city can finally make it to the top 5.
As a slow-paced daily activity, I think this result is pretty good.
Finally, about adding more chapters.
According to the editor’s estimate, the book’s current performance should have 1600 to 1800 first orders.
Personally, I hope to break 2000.
Then the first order is 2000 or above, and there will be an additional update for every 200.
If you give a reward, the leader will definitely update more, but this is an extremely low probability event, so it's useless to even think about it. Let's talk about it when the reward comes.
The main thing is that since other authors have mentioned it, I would like to mention it too.
We can do without it, but our momentum cannot be weak!
Finally, I hope you like this book and can support it if you have the conditions!
Grateful!
